Bioterrorism Act of 2002

Bioterrorism Act of 2002 is an plan for preparedness for public health emergencies. Infant formula is included in section 305 "Registration of Food Facilities" All infant formula manufacturers in the United States must register their facilities. Each manufacturing plant must be registered, a company can not use one registration that includes all of its operations.

Specifically, Section 305 states "The Secretary shall by regulation require that any facility engaged in manufacturing, processing, packing or holding food for consumption in the United States be registered with the Secretary... by December 12, 2003.
